Steel Viper Star Captain
Stenson is a respectable and feared Mechwarrior of the Steel Vipers. A Gamma
Trinary Commander, Stenson joins Sasha Breen as the major representatives of
the Steel Viper Warden cause. Though Stenson is ranked lower than Sasha
within the Strikers, he had maintained an equal ranking with her within their
Clan before their transfer. However Sasha’s seniority as a Striker allows her to
speak and act on behalf of Stenson and the other members of the Steel Vipers.
Stenson has joined the Strikers with a sense of caution. Though he recognizes
confrontation with the Inner Sphere is necessary for a Warden relationship,
Stenson is wary of working with the Inner Sphere members of the team. He
tends to stick with the Clan half of the Strikers whenever possible. Luckily for
Stenson, most of his training is with his own star. His relationship with the
Nova Cats is somewhat rocky, but he has maintained control over his warriors
in the wake of any disagreements.
He is in command of a rather odd group of warriors. One of his star is the Nova
Cat liaison Mechwarrior Savalas. Stenson seems to treat Savalas fairly, but
some Steel Vipers believe he should not do so. No matter what his Steel Viper
warriors say, Stenson is determined to treat all members of the Strikers fairly.
He believes that playing his part on the Strikers is vital to future cooperation
between the Steel Vipers, Nova Cats, and the Inner Sphere people as a whole.
Stenson played an important role in the Clan portion of the team’s victories over
the Blakists. In each occasion, he has earned himself awards for his combat
performance and leadership. He is especially apt at flanking maneuvers. Some
guess that he is a more accomplished tactician than Sasha Breen, but none will
dare to say this openly.
Stenson remains a trusted commander for most of his Clan teammates. He
often sides with Savalas during conflicts of opinion. This has caused him to
occasionally oppose Sasha, who has become more forceful in her command
since the death of Commander Devon Carns. Sasha’s rise to power has driven
the Steel Vipers to a higher rank within the mercenary unit, a fact that has
probably led to mixed feelings for Stenson. He no doubt enjoys more overall
respect from the Nova Cats and Inner Sphere members than he had in years
past. However he has also met with much stauncher resistance when
disagreeing with Inner Sphere teammates of whom he’d previously relied on for
friendly support.
