House Davion Veteran
Sameer Carter has spent much of his life in the military. Joining at the age of
21, he possesses an earlier start than most. His career had once been strictly
limited to his home nation, the Federated Suns. Sameer has fought many
battles and lost many friends since the arrival of the Clans in late 3049. His
stories of war are typically horrific, describing the deaths of friends and
enemies alike. Sameer’s departure from the Federated Suns was for the same
reason that many soldiers left; he refused to take orders from Katherine
Steiner-Davion. Sameer joined the Strikers during the end of their Outreach
recruitment. While traveling directly to the Irece Prefecture he had much time
to ponder the coming war between Davion and Steiner forces. Sameer briefly
regretted joining the Strikers because he felt that he could have played a larger
part to liberate the Federated Suns from Katherine’s rule. He was greatly
disappointed when Strikers’ commanders decided that only Clan forces would
aid the Davion loyalist cause.
During the early days of the Clan members strike against the Lyrans,
Commander Carns sent the Clan half’s first major salvage from the Davion
campaign to Sameer in the Irece Prefecture. Devon spoke of the 95 ton
Hauptmann as "the first of many Steiner Mechs to fall alongside Katherine’s
rule". Within the same year, Sameer’s own lance was assigned under Duo
Maxwell in another contract involving operations against the Lyrans.
Though he initially contemplated breaking his contract to aid House Davion,
Sameer chose to honor his pledge to the Strikers, a decision cemented when he
and his lance were given a chance to fight in the Fed-Com War. His experience
placed him as commander of the powerful Thunder lance. Sameer has used his
Lyran Mech design to great avail, especially during his ferocious combat
against Katherine Steiner-Davion and her supporters.
After the first attacks by the Word of Blake hit Miranda, Sameer became a vocal
representative of all proposed attack plans against the terrorist group. When
the Word of Blake firebombed an Inner Sphere barracks complex in 3068,
Sameer was one of the few survivors. With most of his direct teammates killed,
he has only become more determined to punish those he holds responsible for
his new unit’s losses. Sameer is a champion of justice in a dark time. This
position no doubt comes with much stress.
