    Guerrilla Fighter

Linus Evett was one of the many men who were seemingly lost during the initial
years of the Clan invasion.  After fighting alongside Periphery units against
Jade Falcons in a desperate attempt to evacuate a planet, Linus was trapped
when his Chameleon training Mech was struck down by multiple Timber Wolf
Mechs.  He ejected shortly before his fusion engine shielding gave way.  Hiding
amongst the shattered remains of his unit’s armory, Linus survived for several
days despite strict surveillance by Clan Jade Falcon.  He was finally able to
leave the battlefield when he discovered an intact scout bike.  After salvaging a
few weapons, Linus started his own guerrilla campaign against Jade Falcon
    forces.
After 7 months, the Jade Falcons had left planet.  Linus desperately searched
for remains of the unit, hoping to find a hidden cache somewhere.  Within
weeks of searching the Jade Falcon’s previous base area, he discovered an
intact Loki Hellbringer guarding a supply of weapons.  Though the Mech was
unpiloted, taking control of it proved extremely difficult.  After days of tinkering
with its security system, Linus was finally able to initiate a fusion cold start.
Radioing into space using the Mech’s complex electronics suite, Linus
established contact with a Merchant-class Jumpship.
After proving of the Clan cache’s existence via video-link, Linus bribed the
Jumpship’s captain with Clan parts.  The ship soon retrieved him from the
planet, sending a Leopard-class Dropship to retrieve him and the supplies.
After rescue, Linus traveled to Outreach where he searched for the next unit he
would join.  Boasting his own powerful Clan Mech, he received many offers.
The Strikers unit offered him many special benefits for owning his Mech,
including a high pay rate provided that he displayed adequate skill in battle.  He
also knew he could secure Clan replacement parts after speaking with the Clan
commander Devon Carns of the Nova Cats.  Linus proved his position in
training, and fought alongside the members of the Thunder lance.  Though his
Mech was dramatically smaller than his lancemates’, the Clan nature of his
Mech proved more than capable of its role in the group.
Linus was killed in the firebombing of 3068.  He was off-duty and sleeping at the
time of the attack.  He was able to evacuate from his room by using the
ventilation ducts connected to his room, but later died from the trauma caused
    by his extensive burns.
