    Solaris Contender

Fighting his way onto the screens of newsvids throughout Solaris VII and the
entire Inner Sphere had only become a memory for Daryl Zero.  When Daryl lost
his major fight in 3061, his sponsoring stable showed him the door.  Many
Solaris contenders are relieved of their positions in this way.  However not
many are able to return to the life they like with much ease.  With the Strikers
reform of 3062, Strikers’ Commanders Carns and Strider became interested in
    what Solaris had to offer.
Believing they could find an elite Mechwarrior or at least a lucky one, the two
commanders placed a representative on the games world to find such a soldier.
Ransway Burke, a member of the Strider’s Strikers security, appeared to be
    perfect for the representative’s position.
Burke consulted battle histories and documentaries of 3057-3061 Solaris fights
to narrow his search to 8 contenders.  Of these, 2 rejected the Strikers’
employment opportunity.  The third, Daryl Zero, was more level-headed.
Knowing the "one-way or no-way" Solaris rule of thumb, Daryl signed on
immediately after learning of the position’s pay.
Daryl’s position on the Strikers was somewhat different than what was originally
intended.  With the addition of two Knights of the Inner Sphere, the Striker
commanders placed the talented Zero under Sir Owen’s command.  With the aid
of Ted Conrad, a rather expensive freelance Mechwarrior, the lance became a
    very powerful group.
Daryl piloted a Jinggau, a new Capellan design boasting what many consider to
be the best all around weapons configuration.  Amongst the Strikers, the Gauss
Rifle-four laser array of the Jinggau has become almost standard on retrofitted
Mechs.  Daryl appeared satisfied with his position.  He had made friends quickly
with both the Knights as well as ‘Big Unit’ Conrad.
Daryl was killed during the firebombing of 3068, in which a barracks facility was
destroyed by Blakist airstrikes.  He was one of those sleeping when the building
was hit by the bombs.  Evidence recovered from the remains of the fire
indicates he’d tried to escape from his room but was unable to do so before
succumbing to the fire or fumes.
