    Head Technician

Rocky Potts is the Master Technician for the Strider’s Strikers team.  His work
with weapon retrofits and complete chassis overhauls astounds most of the
Strikers.  Potts’ greatest accomplishment is his 70-ton Infighter BattleMech,
co-built with Dr. Byron Jones from a reconfigured Charger chassis.  The Mech
also sports its own prototype weapons of the two’s creation.  The
ThunderClap-20, as it has been named, uses sonic booms to rattle enemy
    Mechs apart.
Rocky’s friend and ever-companion, Ryan Allen, pilots the Infighter.  The two
have a long history that goes back to when Rocky originally lost his arms,
during an attack by Liao BattleMechs on a small BattleMech factory.  Ryan
saved Rocky by carrying him to the hospital via a Wasp BattleMech.  Rocky still
fights in Mechs, though he is not your average pilot.  His skills in the Mech shed
greatly outweigh his skills on the battlefield.
Rocky is an expert tech who provides many of the Strikers with weapon setup
and replacements.  Though maimed, his cybernetic Mod IV limbs give him the
necessary control over his tools.  Rocky believes he owes Ryan his life,
therefore forever putting him at Ryan’s side.  Rocky enjoys tinkering with
experimental weapon designs and cross replacements between Mechs.  He is
known for creating difficult combinations of weapons and equipment that are
    often thought impossible to rig.
Rocky’s lance was attacked by a Blakist Mech force in 3068.  Despite his
position as a commander, Rocky was busy at the time in the laboratory working
on a simplified chassis for the Infighter.  He was evacuated after actions were
taken by Mural Rye-Del, the more experienced tactician of the two.  Rocky
disguised himself by riding a Panther Mech and quickly made his way to an
emergency Dropship landing site.  In order to save their commander and the
Strikers’ unit’s most important scientist, Mural, Sarah Smythe, and Birdie
Sunnman met their enemies head on in combat.  Though they were unable to
protect Rocky much, they nevertheless bought him the time needed to escape.
Rocky has been shaken by the recent series of tragedies within the Strikers
unit.  He and Ryan debated whether or not they would stay with the team, but
opted to stick with the unit.  Rocky knows that Strider’s Strikers need his
technical know-how and has decided to do his best in providing them with his
    skill.
