Chivalric Crusader
A former Knight of the Inner Sphere, Alec left because of what he felt was
Marik’s increasing acceptance of the Word of Blake. He hates these radicals
with a passion, after the bombing of a Comstar compound killed his wife and
infant son as they were sending a message to him. He follows the strict code of
chivalry and sees Word of Blake’s willingness to involve innocents in their war
as barbaric. Once Captain of a Knights of the Inner Sphere company, he
convinced many of his old comrades to join in his personal crusade against the
Blakists. Joining him are Sir Frederick de Saint Aldemarr, Sir Alfred Trebuchet,
and Sir Rick Ridges, members of his command lance in his old company. All are
experienced Mechwarriors and have taken lead roles in his new endeavor.
An experienced Mechwarrior with a flare for tactics, Alec has started his own
mercenary company, to uphold the ‘Warrior Code’ and to combat Word of Blake
in a more active way. He has successfully drawn to his cause those that have
similar ideals. Alec hopes to one day rival the Knights of the Inner Sphere. He is
also a religious man who prefers Mechs such as the Templar or Crusader,
whose images symbolize his chivalric crusader cause.
Alec not only has close allies within his old Knights’ company, but he has
friends within the Strikers. Once a member of the same battalion as Owen
Hardcastle, Alec was one of the few to become aware of the Blakist framing of
Owen’s unit. Disgusted with the Knights’ cover up of the Word of Blake’s
involvement, Alec soon after left the Knights to create his own unit.
Through the combination of the death of his family and framing of Hardcastle in
3058, Alec had had enough of the Word of Blake’s machinations. He quit the
Knights and began forming the Crusaders of the Inner Sphere, a unit designed
to fight against the threat posed by fanatical sects throughout the Inner Sphere,
such as the Word of Blake and the Black Dragon Society.
Alec pilots the Grand Crusader, a Mech he obtained from an honor duel with the
Word of Blake commander. This man was responsible for the bombing that
killed his family. He prefers to use long range combat to weaken his enemies,
but does not back away from close quarters fighting when needed.
